Membership is restricted to students who successfully complete a competitive selection process. Members should be enthusiastic, committed students who love Texas State. Recruitment is completed during the fall and spring semesters.

Our Story
University Ambassadors was established in 1991 and founded by Director of Admissions at the time, Christie Kangas. This program was originally given the name “Admissions Ambassadors,” but still led with the same mission.
Who Are We?
We are proud and passionate TXST students within the university community, dedicated to fostering a deep appreciation for Texas State. We actively educate and engage with prospective, current, and former students, aiming to cultivate a strong sense of Bobcat pride across the student body. We provide campus tours for prospective students, host Bobcat Days, and spread excitement and school spirit throughout campus.
What We're Known For
Bobcat Days
University Ambassadors are integral to Bobcat Days, where they serve as hosts of the event. They serve as guides to campus, and share their student life experience with prospective students and their families.
Service
University Ambassadors also participates in many volunteer opportunities to the TXST and San Marcos community. University Ambassadors are known for their participation in events such as The Big Event, Adopt-A-Spot, and a bi-annual Blood Drive.
Representation
Known as the “40 Faces of TXST,” the University Ambassadors represent TXST through their leadership in campus events, volunteer initiatives, and interactions with prospective students. They exemplify the vibrant and inclusive culture of TXST, fostering connections and leaving lasting impressions.
